I’ve been coaching people to be their best for over twenty years and love seeing them thrive as they adjust the lens they’re looking through. As a mom of teengaers, I realized that I could use my talent to help moms feel less frustrated, isolated and defeated as their kids navigate the challenging teen years. Helping my clients improve their relationship with themselves and honor their needs is my superpower. You’ll love how your energy shifts and your interactions become more positive after working together! I’m excited for you to experience more peace and confidence and live the life you’re meant to live.
How often do you ask yourself “How can I better manage my time”? I mean, someone has to have figured this out, right? I’ll admit organization and time management are some of my strengths, but it used to be at the cost of authentic connection with others. I was so rigid about the things, that I lost sight of the people. Juggling the demands of a busy family schedule definitely got the better of me.
But I have figured out how to have both. In this post, I’ll delve deep into practical time management strategies and introduce you to a few apps that can help you efficiently manage your life.
Managing your time effectively starts with the art of time blocking. This technique involves setting aside specific blocks of time for various tasks and priorities. Whether it’s dedicated family time, work commitments, or self-care, time blocking helps you gain a better grip on your daily schedule. For each of those blocks, be specific about what you want to accomplish within it to help you stay more focused.
Creating a daily to-do list is a fundamental step in time management. However, it’s not just about listing tasks. Prioritizing those tasks by importance is the real key. Focus your energy on completing the most significant items first, aligning your efforts with your family’s needs and your personal goals.
My secret tip is to add something really small or even something I already completed to the list to get a quick win & create momentum, even if it’s not one of the highest priority items.
Before I jump into my app recommendations, I have to say that consistent use is the key. There is a little up front time to learn the tools and get them set-up and if you ignore them for any length of time, you’ll have more work to get them up to date.
Trello: The Digital Organizer: Trello stands is one of the best apps to manage your life. It acts as a versatile digital organizer where you can create boards for different aspects of your life, including family, work, and personal aspirations. The app allows you to add tasks, set deadlines, and collaborate effortlessly with family members, making it a game-changer for staying organized..
Google Calendar: When it comes to managing a busy family schedule, Google Calendar is my go to tool. I love that you can create shared calendars and share your calendar with others, and set reminders for everyone! The trick is to get everyone to use it.
Insight Timer – Meditate & Sleep: You might be confused by the inclusion of a meditation app on this list. When my day gets a little frantic, this is the perfect tool to help my brain settle down and refocus. And with better sleep, comes a more productive and calmer mind.
Balancing a busy family schedule requires prioritizing intentional family time. Set aside dedicated moments for meaningful family interactions. Engage in screen-free activities, encourage open conversations, and create cherished memories together. It’s these moments that strengthen family bonds.
In our quest to answer the question, “How can I better manage my time?” we must not forget the crucial skill of setting boundaries. Setting boundaries with family and friends but also boundaries between work and family time. Allocate specific hours for work-related tasks and be equally diligent about designating time for your family and personal needs.
Even the best-laid plans encounter obstacles. It’s essential to embrace adaptability as a crucial time management skill. Being too rigid can just add to the chaos. Be ready to adjust your schedule when unexpected family needs arise or when personal priorities shift. Flexibility is your ally in maintaining equilibrium.
As someone deeply familiar with mindset practices, I understand the profound impact of thoughts on energy and life. Cultivating a positive mindset can transform your perception of time and helps you understand where you can cut wasted time. Begin each day with a gratitude journal, noting down the things you’re thankful for. This simple practice sets a positive tone for your day.
As a lifestyle and empowerment coach, I also teach the value of a supportive community to help keep you focused. Surround yourself with positive individuals who inspire and uplift you. Seek out online groups or local events where you can connect with like-minded individuals. Their encouragement and shared experiences can bolster your outlook and provide needed support leading to a more positive and productive use of your time.
As you strive to answer the question, “How can I better manage my time?” remember that it’s a journey toward achieving balance and fulfillment. By implementing effective time management strategies and utilizing top-notch life management apps, you can create a harmonious and gratifying family life. It’s all about finding that sweet spot where you can cherish every moment with your loved ones while pursuing your personal aspirations. In the midst of life’s busyness, you’ve got the tools to master time and craft a fulfilling life.
